Salvation Day cover and excerpt reveal

Salvation Day Final.jpg

I am excited to report that the cover for my upcoming novel Salvation Day has been revealed at Hypable.com, along with an except from the beginning of the book: ‘Salvation Day’ cover reveal, excerpt offers the choice between life and death.

I love this cover so much. It’s striking and fiery and so very red. I can’t wait to see it on the final hardcover. And you can’t see it here or in the posted excerpt, but the design of the inside pages is just as amazing.

Salvation Day will be published by Berkley on July 9, 2019. You can find information and preorder links here.

A recent study of the New York Times's "By the Book" feature revealed that male authors mention other men and their works four times more often than they mention women and their works, whereas women tend to mention authors and works of both genders about equally. (See: the data and an article.) These numbers made me curious about the gender distribution of recommendations in the science fiction and fantasy corner of the literary world, so I decided to take a look at the recommendations made in the Tor.com "Five Books" feature, in which contributors recommend books centered around a particular theme.

announcement: a spaceship full o'corpses!

I am absolutely thrilled to announce the sale of my adult science fiction horror novel HOUSE OF WISDOM! Here is the announcement from Publishers Marketplace:

Kali Wallace's HOUSE OF WISDOM, pitched as an Alien-inspired thriller set in deep space about a cult leader and her hostages trapped aboard an abandoned spaceship along with a virus of mysterious origins, her first book for adults, to Jessica Wade at Ace, at auction, in a two-book deal, by Adriann Ranta Zurhellen at Foundry Literary + Media (NA).

I am so excited to work with Jessica Wade and the team at Ace for my debut into the adult sci fi world, and I am so happy this book has found a home. It's a book I truly love, with all its dark, gruesome, space-bound horror, and I hope you love it too.
